Well, today has been an emotional one. An early start saw me stumble upon an unexpected German Cemetery in Buzancy.

Moving on from here, around three hours walking brought me to Romagne-sous-Montfaucon, where a smaller, but by far and away the nicest German Cemetery I've yet visited.

A few hundred meters away is the largest American Military cemetery on mainland Europe. No words or pictures can really capture the size or the serenity of the place, so I'll just say that there are the graves of 14,246 Americans, along with a memorial wall containing a further 954 names. The site covers 130.5 acres and buried here are 22 sets of brothers and 9 Medal of Honour recipients.
