Today Mags and I went for a nice stroll along the banks of the Helford river around to Gillan Creek.
Starting at Helford Village, the path quickly leads you into the woods and skirts the river for the whole walk.
Sometimes you can see across the river to the villages described in my Blog on Day 10 of the walk, occasionally the path leads to a small cove that sits on the river.
Eventually, after a mere two and a half miles you come to Dennis Head and a loop in the path takes you around it, before you head down to St. Anthony-in-Meneage and Gillan Creek.
The committed coastal walker gets here at Low tide, because then the creek can be crossed by stepping stone to get to Flushing on the far bank. I should be committed, but am not a committed walker, so I'll start / end the day at Flushing later in my walk.
The total distance today was only six and a half miles, so an enjoyable and easy walk. I've done the writing first, so you can enjoy some pictures at the end.
One thing I feel I have to mention, beware the person who takes a long look at the three way directional sign and then still takes the wrong route (especially if you've already walked past the sign before).
